The company offices and manufacturing facilities were transferred from Dent to Tebay, where warehousing and the company’s ‘Work and Rescue’ activities were already located.

Although fundamentally industrial in character the building was required to achieve a very high specification with excellent facilities and space standards, high quality materials and a number of sustainable technologies including:

• heat recovery;
• photovoltaic cells;
• solar hot water heating;
• passive ventilation;
• solar shading;
• rainwater harvesting;
• and high levels of thermal insulation.

We are delighted that the project has been won the Northern LABC Building Excellence Award 2013 for the ‘Best Small Commercial Building’, a tribute to all involved, not least the client for calling for such high standards in their new building.
